Monthly Scripts
a growing collection of free short comic book scripts for any artist to draw
The monthly free comic book scripts challenge is a personal project I’ve set for myself in Autumn 2022. The rules of this challenge are simple: each month I write a short (usually 4-page) comic book script that I then post here and on r/ComicBookCollabs on Reddit. If any artist then comes across any of my scripts and wants to draw it, they can do so completely for free. The only thing that I ask of them in return is to credit me as the writer and also share their work because I always love to see various artists’ interpretations of my stories.
The origins of this challenge go back to when I posted four 4-page scripts on Reddit back in July 2022. It seemed like a great idea at the time, but the problem was that after I wrote and posted these four scripts, I really didn’t have anything urgent to keep me focusing on writing regularly, which is exactly the type of problems that the monthly challenge fixes for me.
This original set of scripts also serves as a backup for me if I can’t think of anything for the monthly challenge. I already used the Garden Party script for this purpose, but I really hope I won’t have to use any of the other ones.
