Garden Party is one of the very first comic book scripts I have ever written. It was actually a part of the four 4-page scripts for any artist to drawn that I posted on Reddit in June 2022 that served as a precursor to my Monthly Scripts challenge.

Until recently, Garden Party was also (to my knowledge) the only one of the original four scripts that haven't been turned into a comic. That changed in March 2025 when an American artist and industrial designer Ryan Lepianka contacted me to let me know that he wants to bring this story to life.

I told Ryan that I'll be happy to see what he'll create out of my script, though I did have one stipulation. Because back when I was writing Garden Party, I didn't yet have the sense of how much dialogue I can fit into one page. So I told Ryan that he should feel free to add some extra pages so that the story can breathe a little more.

You can read Ryan's final comic below. He not only stretched the original 4-page script into 8 pages, but also added some extra dialogue to make the story a bit more personal to him. And I'm very glad he did, because it allowed him to turn a script that was arguably a bit clunky and amateur into something much bigger and better.
